Important Notice to Students and Families: State-Level Data Security Breach Involving Educational Testing Service (ETS)

Dear ROWUSD  Families, 
We would like to inform our families of a recent state-level data security breach involving Educational Testing Services (ETS), the California Department of Education’s (CDE) statewide assessment contractor. 
This security incident occurred at the state level and was not a result of a breach of Rim of the World Unified School District’s systems. 
We understand that news of a data security incident may raise concerns regarding the privacy and protection of personal information. 
ETS is notifying affected students and families directly and offering identity-protection services at no cost to those impacted. Families whose information was affected may receive a notification from ETS regarding the incident, along with information about resources and protective measures.
